In 2008, he founded DEL Records, an American Spanish language record label.
In 2012, the record label signed Gerardo Ortiz, a Regional Mexican singer who received a Grammy nomination for Best Norteño Album for his debut album Ni Hoy Ni Mañana in 2010.
In 2019, the Latin star ended his contract with DEL Records. del Villar said:
“I want to thank Del Records for being with me for 9 years of my career.”
Gerardo went on to say:
“From this moment my musical career will be led by a new team.”
Later, Ortiz filed a suit against DEL Records for fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and other charges.
